Changes for the 19-20 School Year

Author: Jessica Thomssen

Like every school year at IKM-Manning, a new year brings new changes. New teachers and Paras were hired, classrooms were moved, new furniture was ordered, schedules were changed, and decorations were put up.

One of the smaller changes that occurred this year was the high school lockers were decorated with white and black wolf paw decal magnets. Some other decorative changes include a beautiful Wolves mural on the cafeteria wall painted by Mr. Roate, newly-painted classrooms, new tiles and floors in both schools, fresh flowers in the Preschool playground, and new landscaping in the high school entrance dedicated to Mrs. Erb.

However, those aren’t all the things that changed this summer. Many classrooms in both schools were fortunate enough to receive new ‘flexible’ furniture this year, providing better seating for students and new desks that encourage teamwork and collaboration. Along with some new furniture and supplies, other classrooms repainted or moved. A couple of those painted were Mr. Blankman and Ms. Newman, two of the school’s science teachers.

It was also decided to open a new full-day Preschool to make room for more kids. This means there are now two Preschools instead of one. Because of this, Mrs. Linde’s room and Mrs. Skillen’s rooms were both moved so the Preschool rooms would be located next to each other.

While these were only some of the changes at IKM-Manning this year so far, there are just too many to list.
