I put up a wall-like veil
Blocking
Shielding
No one must see
And I can’t let them know
I smile
To hide the anxiety
My vulnerability and hurt
They wouldn’t understand
Or care, so I crawl inside
My veil shelters me from their looks
But still it is too thin
To fragile against their blows
Billowing, letting the wind, like ice, crash
Against my face
I can’t let them see me react
Just smile
Show that you care, even
Though you can’t see
Through your own tears.
This veil conceals
Protecting
Separating
